Mike Whitson is co-founder and Chief Research Scientist for Discida. Mike helps companies worldwide leverage user and customer experience research to discover the “true perspective” of their advertising, designs, and messaging. Mike spends considerable time staying on top of emerging technologies in neuroscience, artificial intelligence, and psychology to keep Discida on the cutting edge and providing well-balanced, useful insights.
Despite all his nerdy tendencies, Mike insists the most valuable research tool is empathy; being able to view a design from the perspective of others creates memorable designs that are easy to understand at a glance. The juxtaposition of science and art in research better measures the human experience.
Mike holds degrees in Psychology and Computer Science. His graduate work in Psychology focused on neuroscience, eye tracking applications in applied and behavioral measurement settings, machine learning, and statistics.
